How To Move Your Hot Tub By Using A Spa Wedge?

May 23, 2022

What is a spa wedge?

A spa wedge lifts a hot tub from the floor and places it on its side for removing or moving an installed hot tub, or when installing a new hot tub, the wedge can be used to place the hot tub on its side on a cart for easy transportation and through narrow passageways. Using spa wedges helps avoid injuries and makes the process of transporting, installing, and moving hot tubs easier, eliminating the need for expensive equipment such as a crane to move the hot tub and place it in its new location.

How to move an already installed hot tub?

Step 1. Make sure your hot tub is drained of water.

Step 2. Make sure the cartridge pillows and other accessories inside don't fall right out or are removed altogether.

Step 3. Lift one side of the hot tub with a tool and place a block of wood or another hard object on either side for support.

Step 4. Insert the uninflated spa wedge with the triangular side facing up into the bottom of the tub with the inflatable opening facing out.

Step 5. Connect the spa wedge to the air pump and begin to inflate.

Step 6. Prepare the cart on the other side and wait until inflation is complete before placing the tub on its side on the cart.

Notice

1. The spa wedge will be inflated at a 45 degree angle, please do not turn it upside down as there is a risk of it slipping off.

2. The spa wedge should face the bottom of the hot tub and be lifted by the strap.

3. The hydrotherapy wedge is intended as an aid for transportation and installation, it is not a complete substitute for a jack or trolley, for hot tubs that are too large and heavy (over 1000 lbs), a crane or other large tool is recommended.
